Troubleshooting Ratio Calculator

The Ratio Calculator is created in Rolls. As the children Signs In/Out, values are automatically updated. This feature can only function if staff is also signed in. In some instances the Ratio Calculator is not functioning as expected, consider checking the Room setup. Refer to the instructions below in troubleshooting the room for the Ratio Calculator:

Setting up the Room to balance staff vs children:

1. Login to Smart Central. Select a Centre.

2. Centre’s page appears. Then click Rooms

3. Rooms page appears. Click on the name of the room in the Name column.

4. Edit room page appears. Enter a realistic number for Capacity. Enter a realistic value on Educator to Child Ratio (1: *). Then click Save

The ratio can also be determined using the following steps:

1. Login to Smart Central. Click Services. Then, select a service

2. The Centre page appears. Then, click Ratio

3. The educator to Child Ratio page appears. Click on any cells marked understaffed

4. 15min Snapshot page appears. scroll down to the bottom of the page. The display indicates the number of educators and children in a room, which can be used as a reference in updating the ratio value
