In situations where a family requires ACCS assistance, the initial step is to apply for a 6-week certificate. This certificate is a prerequisite before seeking extended coverage through a determination. The purpose of the 6-week certificate is to allow time to compile evidence supporting a longer-term determination request, which can provide ACCS coverage for 13 weeks to a year. It's crucial to note that you can only apply for ACCS on a family's behalf if there's a child at risk. For other circumstances, like financial challenges or grandparent carers, the family must submit their application directly through MyGov.

However, for the determination of weeks at risk use “13” instead of “6” weeks. Note: All information is exactly the same. Therefore repeat the same information used in the certificate. Use the same answer on the following questions: Was provider notified of child's risk by an appropriate State/Territory body? Has a notice to an appropriate State/Territory Body been made? Recommendation: answers to both questions should not be the same to avoid errors. |
15. Tick to agree to the Declaration tickbox |
16. Click Submit to continue. Submission will fail if required fields are not properly filled out and the required documents as well. Once the submission is successful, the new determination appears on the ACCS page with the updated information. |
